Windrunner Texture Work In Progress

Just a update on the textures so far for the Windrunner set. I'm thinking that the name could be something like FeatherFall. Since there is lots of feathers. I'd love an unusual effect like feathers coming out whenever she runs away. That would be awesome!

This is just the model shown in maya at 100% self illumination. I still have to work on the bow and the quiver, Which should be done tomorrow! Then I can rig her and hopefully even upload her tomorrow! :D

Windrunner set Highpoly

Still don't have a name for this set :( But here is the finished highpoly! In a mammoth streamin day, I managed to get it done before knock off :D

I think the main bow shaft (the feather looking part) needs to be toned down some more, but other than that this is it!)

Windrunner blockout

So I though I better get cracking on this windrunner set I put on the back burner for Mirana and Shagbark. I felt lost when I opened the file. I didn't know what I was doing 100% of the time. So the whole session was me getting back into the grove of this character, this set and the feelings I wanted to portray.

I ended up changing her loose dreddies up into a ponytail. (which won't be dreaded fyi ;) ) and managed to polish up some of her shoulder armor and the top of her cloak. The hair style change was unanimously voted to be better, and I was glad. As it really carries that light and carefree feeling I was trying to capture.


Finished the Shagbark's Textures plus plans on future items

So I finally finished Cyborgmatt's shagbark textures and will now be passing it over to T_vidotto for animation and Danidem for a final check of the quality. Super fun to work on. My favorite part was probably texturing, of and sculpting the owls. So cute and poofy!

So after this I will jump straight onto windrunner and finish her up ready for the workshop. After that I have rubick to do. 

After that I have plans on making a bunch of single items. 15 in total. 6 -7 weapons, 6-7 wearables and 2 mounts, one for batrider and one for KotL.  mammoth task but I think I should be able to pull it off within a  month. As always I'll stream the entire process on my twitch channel!

New item in the works! Shagbark!

So this little guy has been floating around on Cyborgmatt's blog and stream for a while now, and I have just finally gotten time to start working on him. I managed to finish the basic blockout today in a rushed stream, which I had to cancel short because of a surprise dental appointment.


I've been pretty busy these last few weeks with trips to NZ and finishing some feedback requests on my Mirana mount.

Hopefully the rest of the week is calm so I can focus on finishing this bad boy to hand over to T_vidotto to rig and animate :D

After I do this guy, I'll set aside some time to try to do a blog about some frequently asked questions about items creation for dota2 and 3D art in general.
